matthew felker

Good ad: brilliant cinematography, editing, lighting. Concept that makes languishing look so sexy. And Matthew Felker.

Maybe it's returning from countries where peace is not such a long-standing concept as it is at home, or maybe it's discussing too much history with locals in Croatia. But most probably, it's too much watching of Justin Walker on Brothers and Sisters.

I can't help but think about war, and consequently, its soldiers. Bout 2 weeks ago, it marked the 7th anniversary of the war in Iraq. Seven years, and people are still dying for a reason we know is kinda important but can't quite seem to remember.

Whatever your conviction might be; that war is always wrong, or war is necessary for freedom or safety, it's your ideals, and they should always be respected. But maybe the only thing we should never forget is the cost of war.

Ashley Gilbertson is a war photographer and this is how he sees war. It was powerful to me, and I hope it is to you too :)
