this is why I don't believe in karma.

Kathy Cox, a Georgia state Schools Superintendent, was the first person to ever win the million dollar question in Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader. (On a side note: this show is awesome. The Rest would gather in my room to watch it when it was on. And we have always concluded that to win the million dollars is IMPOSSIBLE.)

Well, Kathy Cox, after winning the million dollars, donated ALL her winnings to the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf, the Georgia School for the Deaf and the Georgia Academy for the blind. She says in the vid that she wants to go for the million bucks because she has tried so hard to keep kids in school and she wants to convey the message that trying and failing is better than not trying at all.  Such a nice lady right?

WELL. Now, a few months after her donation, her husband's construction business failed. This week, they filed for bankruptcy.

Karma is not just a bitch, it doesn't exist. I would love to believe in it, but the fact is that horrible things happen to good people too. And good things happen to horrible people. And I can't understand why. Its as if god's playing this cruel joke on all these nice people that sacrificed in order to better the lives of others.

Its not nice to be a cynic. Its so much a sadder world to live in. I still believe in the good in people, and that people should always be good to other people. But if you were expecting karma to return you a favor, don't count on it.

Anyways, if you believe in karma, you're just saying "I expect something good to happen to me as a result of my giving". That is conditional giving. And conditional giving doesn't constitute real giving. I'm just saying.

Lesson learnt. Keep your winnings. No, scratch that. That would be cynical. Lesson learnt. Karma doesn't exist. So give and expect nothing in return.
